About our Lip Balm Ingredients  Cocoa Butter:   An aromatic solid butter pressed from the roasted seeds of the Cacao tree (Theobroma cacao) and further processed to yield a warm color and delightful odour. Will soften at body temperature and adds a rich, creamy, and thick consistency to lotions, soaps, creams, and toiletry items to help reduce cutaneous dryness and for the improvement of skin elasticity. A soothing ingredient oftentimes called the best natural moisturizer available.  Extraction- Expeller Pressed/Unrefined.  The variety we choose to use is both Certified Organic and Fair Trade and  suitable for food and cosmetic use. Beeswax:  A naturally processed and pure filtered beeswax with origins from Canada and the USA.  A wonderful substance secreted by worker honeybees.  It is an excellent emollient and support for moisturizers.  Suitable for food and cosmetic use. Candelilla Wax:  A natural source wax obtained from boiling the leaf of the E. Pedilanthus, a Mexican Shrub, to obtain the waxy coating naturally present on the leaf.  Because of its safe and continued use in food and cosmetics it is popularly incorporated into numerous applications including balms, lotions, chewing gum, and lipsticks.  Because of its high ester, fatty acid and resin properties it is one of the best suited ingredients for increasing the protective coating on cosmetic applications and is a great vegan alternative to traditional beeswax. Mango Butter:  Expeller pressed and rendered from the seed kernel of the Mango tree, this highly prized butter is an exceptional quality base ingredient for body care products and soap making recipes.  Mango Butter has beneficial moisturizing properties and acts as a mild lubricant to the skin.  Great source of essential fatty acids. Extraction- Expeller Pressed/Refined Shea Butter:  This raw unrefined butter is derived from the vegetable fat of the Karite Tree in Africa. The first choice in natural skin care and fine body care products, this exotic butter forms a breathable, water-resistant film with wonderful natural moisturizing properties. The Shea Butter we have chosen to use is hand harvested, expeller pressed, and unrefined. Avocado Oil:  This ultra rich oil is a delightful treasure containing high amounts of Vitamin A, B1, B2, D, and E. Also contains amino acids, sterols, pantothenic acid, lecithin, and other essential fatty acids. Highly prized to those with dry, sensitive and problem skin. Virgin Coconut Oil:  This is a truly spectacular oil with a deep, and mildly intoxicating scent of pure Coconut pulp.  We use Certified Organic, Unrefined Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. In cosmetic use this is a great oil for general moisturizing and serves as a protective layer, helping to retain the moisture in your skin. Jojoba Oil:  Jojoba oil comes from the beans of the shrub like plant, simmondsia chinensis.  Prized in cosmetic use for it's waxy consistency making it an excellent carrier oil. Olive Oil:  We use excellent quality Certified Organic, First Cold Pressing Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Italian Olives.  Olive Oil is a rich and nutritious oil often used in fine cosmetics and creams for moisturizing properties. Calendula Oil:  Calendula Oil is considered to be one of the most effective topical oils for soothing skin sensitivities.  Used extensively in natural health products in healing salves, creams, balms and baby products. Essential Oils:  We have chosen to lightly scent with only pure Essential Oils steam distilled from plant life.  The following excellent quality Essential Oils are used in our Natural Lip Balms: Certified Organic Bulgarian Lavender Certified Organic Rosemary Certified Organic Peppermint Whole Fruit Steam Distilled Lime Australian Sandalwood (ethically harvested) Vitamin E:  The enriching Vitamin E that we use in our lip balms is Mixed Tocopherols from GMO free Soy sources.  A natural Vitamin E oil obtained by vacuum distillation of vegetable fats and suitable for food use.  Kosher certified and certified GMO free.

	Natural Lip Balm Recipes Lip Balms are not difficult to make and you may wish to try your hand at making your own.   We have included a few natural lip balm recipes that we have tried in the past and that you may wish to experiment with.  Once poured in tubes if you find that the lip balm is too soft for your personal preference, adjust the recipe with a bit of extra wax.  If the lip balm is too hard for your liking, adjust with a bit of extra oil.  You may gently remelt lip balms to do recipe tweaking and repour.   If you wish to make a truly Natural Lip Balm please review the section About Our Lip Balm Ingredients (located to the upper left) with helpful suggestions as to integrity of the ingredients that you should be considering.  Please Note:  As boiling water is involved use caution, this is not a suitable project for children.  Do not make lip balm with children or pets underfoot, that is truly a recipe for disaster. You will need: A double boiler or a good quality Pyrex measuring cup which you can place in a pot with some gently boiling water to melt the ingredients to liquid in order to pour. A postage scale with small ounce weight increments. 5 new empty lip balm tubes (being plastic you can not properly sterilize old tubes so best be safe and purchase new ones) Eye droppers (if using Vitamin E or Essential Oils)
Natural Beeswax Lip Balm Vegan Lip Balm 0.20 oz. Naturally Filtered Cosmetic Grade Beeswax 0.15 oz. Cocoa Butter  0.12 oz. Virgin Coconut Oil  0.12 oz. Mango Butter   0.20 oz. Jojoba Oil  0.20 oz. Avocado OR Extra Virgin Olive Oil  1 drop Vitamin E.  (7500 I.U./Oz.) optional:  If you intend to keep your lip balms for several months you may opt to use the Vitamin E as an antioxidant to help keep the oils from going rancid.  Essential Oil suggestions - optional 1 drop Rosemary Essential Oil OR 1 drop Lavender Essential Oil OR 1 drop Whole Fruit steam distilled Lime Essential Oil (only Whole Fruit Steam distilled Lime Essential Oil is non-phototoxic)   OR 1 drop Australian Sandalwood (sustainably harvested only please!) Essential Oil,  OR 1 drop Roman Chamomile Essential Oil. Place wax and cocoa butter in Pyrex cup, place cup in pot with some water and melt in gently boiling water, double boiler-style.  When fully melted add Mango Butter and Virgin Coconut Oil.  When fully melted add Avocado and Jojoba Oil.  Stir well, cloudiness will dissipate.  Remove from heat.  Allow to cool for about 5 minutes.  Add Vitamin E and Essential Oil if desired.  Stir well.  Pour gently and carefully into tubes, stir well between pourings.      0.20 oz. 	A very handy addition for the bath and shower that we make ourselves (Made in Canada).  Makes it easier to use the little soap bits down to the end by putting them in the mitt to lather. 	Bamboo and Jute Soap Mitt	$4.75  each
	From Forever Natural. A very nice little mitt which a half bar of our soap just happens to fit perfectly. Good lather creator for a soap bar as it makes its way through the mitt. Fits nicely in the palm of the hand, one side super soft bamboo fabric, the other side exfoliating jute. Nice bath accessory for those who like bar soap.  Great inexpensive gift idea, you may choose to tuck a half bar of our soap in the mitt.
